Shared installation

The default shared engine, Studio and required local toolchain root is C:/Apps/EvidenceLaneStudio, unless an explicit EVIDENCE_LANE_STUDIO_ROOT override selects another supported location. This runtime is shared across projects.

Per-project state

Each project uses an explicitly selected durable state root. The owning authority and source lanes keep separate databases and files. Coordination references connect those records without merging their meaning.

Source files stay in their selected source locations. Backups must preserve the coherent relationship between the separate state lanes.

External access

Local storage does not imply that every operation is offline. Research and configured services use their declared network scope. Inspect the chosen route and its requirements.
